Up dated my Prairie Schooler Lists of wants and haves!!  I have 106 out of 202!!!  Love these patterns.  They are totally my favorites.  I just enjoy looking at the booklets...but I have actually stitched several patterns.

Finished knitting Twisted Cowl out of the Malabrigo Book 3.  It is a birthday gift for my youngest daughter.  If will keep her toasty this winter.

Scottie Boys are good!!

I have slowly but surely been working on my collection of The Prairies Schooler Booklets.  I now have Santa's 12 Days of Christmas Books 125, 126 & 127 and Santa's Night 175 and Happy Christmas 190.

It is sad to see a talented designer retire but I totally understand as I'm retired. You reach a point where you say enough is enough.  So good luck and good retirement to Pam Smith and her staff. You will be missed but never forgotten!!

September 2015 Fall Update

I LOVE FALL!!!!

School has started, the fair is over and football is going full force.  Some folks are sad to see summer leave and I will miss summer flowers, long days and cookouts.  But, Fall is full of hurry and scurry!!  There is an excitement in the air as temperatures cool and leaves begin to change.  This morning I watched a little squirrel working on his stash of winter acorns.  The nut was almost as big as his head!!!  That should provide a nice winter meal for him...if he remembers where it's buried!

I am stitching and knitting again after Spring hand surgery.  Although...now my left wrist is giving me a fit.  Old age is ringing all kinds of bells!!  I was fortunate to visit A Likely Yarn in Abingdon, Virginia for the Miss Babs trunk show.  I got Yowza, Favorite Boots and the pattern Brickless to knit a shawlette.  Love this yarn.  Love the pattern.  Can't wait to get this finished and wear to SAFF in Asheville, North Carolina October 30-November 1, 2015.  Miss Babs and scores of other vendors will be at this show.  This will be great fun.  I want to learn to use a hand spindle.

On the cross stitching front I have added to my collection of Prairie Schooler Patterns:
  1. Book 34 The New World Sampler
  2. Book 105 J*K*L
  3. Book 111 P*Q*R
  4. Book 112 S*T*U
  5. Book 116Y*&*Z
  6. The 2015 Santa ...And To All A Good Night
  7. The 2015 Halloween ...Night Flight
  8. The 2015 Freebie ...WHOO WHOO OWL
I shop at Cross Stitch & Crafts in Johnson City, Tennessee. They are the best!!!!

I've got several pictures of FINISHED and FRAMED cross stitch to show next time.  Of course, they are small...BUT THEY ARE FINISHED AND FRAMED!!!!!

Are we really going to have lots of snow according to the number of fogs in August???

Where Do You Begin Stitching???

This morning I was reading several of my favorite stitching blogs.  I noticed in their pictures of works in progress that no one starts their needlework like I do!!

I ALWAYS start in the upper left hand corner and work across and down.  Some stitchers had started their pieces in the center, some on the right, some on the bottom working up and some looked as if they had just picked their favorite color from the picture and started with it!!!!!!

I also do not have a stitching frame for my work.  I have always planned to buy one but just have not.  I roll my work and hold it which is probably the worst way in the world!!  But, this was how I was taught.

So, the questions today...Where do you start on a stitching piece and do you use a stitching frame???

No Snow! But...Snow Inside!!

No Snow but just rain coming our way.  So, I decided to post pictures of our snow tree and decorations.  We always have a decorated tree in the den.  This tree has snowpeople and related snow items.  No Christmas snowpeople...those are packed up with Christmas decorations.

Knitting, knitting and more knitting....that's what I am up to now.  Up to my eyeballs actually!!  I am knitting acorns to adorn wedding gifts of pumpkin bread for a fall wedding.  I have 67 completed leaving 173 to go!!  My goal (HA) is to have them totally completed by April 30, 2015.  Thought I should add the year....inspiration for me!!  I will get these finished!!

On the stitching side I have always tried to stitch something in January just for me.  Usually when I stitch, I give most of the items away to family and friends.  So, this January I am finishing a Prairie Schooler Pattern from Book 91 Summer & Winter The Red Winged Blackbird.

The following are some items I would like to finish and start!!  I made a miscount in January and the writing is off which is driving me crazy.  I took out a bunch of stitches but its still off one row.  So, I'm going to think about it a bit more and see what needs to be done or what will help it and go from there.
